Early works ramp up is feasible almost immediately with established infrastructure and utilities (power, water, sewerage) and communications at Innot Hot Springs, a small tourist township on the main Highway just 25 minutes from the mine site (subject to the access road being upgraded to all weather status). Innot Hot Springs has a 130 km main highway connection to Mourilyan Harbour. Basic accommodation and meals are available at the hotel and trailer park. If warranted, there is suitable land available for the Project to establish a temporary or permanent construction office and warehouse complex and/or support an expanded stand-alone construction camp incorporating transportable buildings.
Some 10 kms to the east of Whispering Ridge is a major electric power line grid running north to south. Alternatively, with Australia’s highest rainfall at Tully, the tunnel built for “The Tully-Millstream Hydro-Electric Scheme” (where currently there is operating a Hydro Electric Dam Scheme called Koombooloomba), this area offers massive water to mix with the ore to make thick magnetite slurry, which can be freely pumped a distance of some 50 kms. These compelling short and long term options may be included in the Terms of Reference for the aforementioned studies.
